My Grandparents William and Idora Sweeney and Idora's two teenage brothers
George Melvin Eshom and Moses Eshom Moved from Jefferson Co. Ks to York,
Benson Co. ND sometime just before the turn of the century.
They were members of the Church of the Brethren in Ozawkie and I have always
wondered if there was a brethren community near their new homestead. Would
Cando have been the closest church to York?
They must have found N. Dakota a hard life because like they also moved on to
Washington State to the Okanagan Valley where the really good apples come
<grin> William and Idora lost their oldest son Cyrus who is buried at a
Brethren Cemetery at Riverside Washington just south of Tonasket. Does
anyone have any information on the Brethren Church in this Area?
