Greetings:
I am new to this list and am very likely a descendant of 2nd Lt. John Samuel
RIDDLESBERGER [also spelled RIDELSPERGER] who first appears with wife
Catherine in Manheim [Lancaster County] in 1770. By 1777, he is living in
Antrim Twp in Franklin County, PA, and in 1787, he and his family [including
son John RIDDLEBERGER senior] move to Fincastle in Boutetort County, VA, with
a number of Brethren families where they remained until some time in the
1820's when they return to Washington TWP [near Waynesboro in Franklin
County]. I am fairly certain that the various RIDDLESBERGER, RIDDLESBARGER,
RIDDLEBARGER and RIDDLEBERGER lines are all related.
I am trying to find a missing link in my line, an "unknown" RIDDLESBERGER, who
married Josephine FOREMAN about 1812, who's line includes early Brethren such
as Wilhelmus KNEPPER (Knipper), Frederick FOREMAN (Furhman) and John HORN.
"Unknown" RIDDLESBERGER had three sons, Daniel (1814), Jacob (1816) and Samuel
(1823). Jacob and Samuel married Foreman cousins and moved with their mother
Josephine RIDDLESBERGER [nee FOREMAN] to Lee County, Illinois, in 1845 and
along with the LEHMANS and the EMMERTS were founders of the Franklin Grove
COB. Daniel and his wife Susan [unknown] moved from Waynesboro to Franklin
Grove in 1857. I am a descendant of Daniel and my family remained in the COB
until the 1950's.
Any help in finding this "Unknown" RIDDLESBERGER or Daniel RIDDLESBERGER's
unknown wife Susan would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Kim Riddlebarger
