There is no Daniel Horn listed in the 1820 census of Newton Township,
Muskingum County, Ohio and several of his descendants have long been
concerned. Not only that but he is nowhere else to be found in 1820.
Pam Benckhuysen found Daniel Horner "I think Muskingum County - to be
checked." Pam guessed at the specific make up of the household and I
added some known and estimated birth dates of Daniel Horn and Susannah
Croy's children and a couple of comments. Here is the result -
Males:
under 10 - 1 John born 1818, 2 years old in 1820
10-16 - 1 Daniel, Jr. born 1805, age 15
16-18 - 1 Jacob born 1803, age 17
16-26 - 1 unknown male born between 1804 and 1794
26-45 - 0
45 & over- 1 Daniel
not in 1820 census - Elijah born 1822.

Females
under 10 - 3 Hannah born 1812, 8 years old, Nancy born 1807, 3 years old
, 1 unknown
10-16 - 1 Susannah born 1807, age 13
16-26 - 2 Mary born 1799 age 21 & Christina, born 1801 age 19
26-45 - 1 (Susannah would be 43)
45 over - 0
Agriculture - 2
not in the 1820 census
Catharine born 1797, married 1817 not in 1820 household
Rebecca, born in 1822 maybe she was born about 1816 instead of 1822?
Now I have the index of the 1820 census on a FTM CD and that index does
not list a Daniel Horner I also tried a Hor*, Daniel search and could
not find him that way - so we have a series of errors blocking us from
Daniel Horn in the year 1820. Pam will probably add something to
this. We seem to be getting close - this is an almost perfect fit for
our Daniel's household.

Also I include David Horn, head of household in the 1820 census,
Muskingum County, Newton Township, a s follows:
males females
David 26 to 45 none
one < 10 one < 10
one 16 to 26 one 16 to 26
We wonder who this David belongs to - he doesn't seem to be Daniel's
brother, if Daniel is the son of Valentine of Belmont County. Regards
Hal
