Hi Jan:
We appear to be cousins, (several times removed). Mary Anna Wilson was the
second wife of Daniel A. Stump, who was the son of Abraham Stump and Magdelena
Lehman, who was the son of Daniel Stump and Salome or Sarah Schmidt. Daniel came
with 4 of his brothers to Vaughan Township, York Co., Upper Canada in about 1807,
(bet you didn't know that you were a little Canadian). Daniel, his brother
Solomon, and several other second generation Stumps went to settle in Indiana in
Elkhart Co. around 1840. I have recently found evidence to indicate that the 5
Stump brothers, Daniel, Solomon, Jacob, Abraham, and (?), originally came from
Somerset Co. Pennsylvania. Their great grandparents John and Margaret Stump,
came from the Rhineland, courtesy of Queen Anne.
I'll send you privately the Stump family tree file that someone gave me. It is
entirely American branches so is not complete and does seem to have a few
mistakes. I just wanted to post the general info. to the list in case anything
is familiar to anyone else.
