Thomas Wright who appears in the 1901 Census as age 22, born Newcastle,
living at Elswick and described as a "hand driller", then perhaps he was a
shipyard worker at Armstrong Whitworth's yard there. If so, he may have
been recruited to work in the Brazilian Naval Arsenal in Rio de Janeiro.
