My interest has to do, basically, with:

1 - Families that peopled Bahia during Colonial times. I've done first-hand
research on several of them.

2 - Brazilian families of the Colonial period that can be traced to minor
European nobility, or to obscure branches of higher-ranking nobility, e.g.
Vasconcellos in Brazil or the Spinolas in the Madeira.

3 - Some medieval questions, such as the possible descent from Muhammad to
the Iberian nobility through the Abunazar/Maya clan.

4 - DFA routes in Portugal, e.g. the Coimbra *presores*.

5 - Social history that can be clarified by genealogy. Someday I'll write a
book on my own family's social history, I mean, a reconstruction of its
day-to-day life, place in their social environment, memories, and so on (I
still have to delineate the concept of `social history' for my own purposes).

6 - Power structures and family power.
