Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Someone must know this
family....well heres hoping anyway, have a great day all :-)
I for sometime now have been working on my own and my stepmums family
tree (Davis). We have had a lot of real mysteries as you can well
imagine and know when you start dabbling into this sort of thing. Her
father Hobart Vivian DAVIS, born 19 August 1886 at Fingal, NE Tasmania.
His name is actually recorded as Hobart Verian DAVIS and the reference
is 1886/1527/33. Parents are George Alexander DAVIS and Sarah Ann
CRAWLEY, went missing back in 1956 (from christchurch,NZ) without trace
and still to this day we have never found out what happened to him which
is very sad, perhaps he went back to Australia to die, who knows?, but
there have never been records found here for him unless he died with
using another name which in that case we will probably never find him.
There was a trace done for him through the salvation army, the police
missing persons reports and still nothing!!! I am trying to gift my
stepmum with the knowledge of what happened to her father before she too
passes away, but with much difficulty. Hobart never spoke much of his
immediate family but I wondered if anyone knows anything of this Davis
family?
I have on site <outbind://7/www.geocities.com/lucyz_nz>
www.geocities.com/lucyz_nz how our Davis lot go. There where a lot of
them that apparently came originally from Wales, and a lot that resided
here in New Zealand as well.
If you have ever heard of or know any little amount of info if you have
time to reply to me it would be much appreciated. I would especially
just like to thank you for taking your time to read this email.
Kind Regards
Sheryl
