I ran across these items while reseaching my Culpeper lines. I am not personally researching Bradford and I have no additional information:
The Petersburg Index,
November 2, 1870:
"The Annual Fair of theVirginia State Agricultural Society...S. S. Bradford, Culpeper, a herd fo fine mixed breed dairy cattle...."
---
The Petersburg Index,
June 2, 1871:
Seventy-Sixth Annual Council of the Protestant Episcopal Church....Additional Lay Delegates...S. S. Bradford, St, Stephen's church, Culpeper..."
---
The Petersburg Index,
October 17, 1871:
"Fine cattle for the Fair.--Mr. Slaughter S. Bradford, of Culpeper county, has written to say that he will be on hand at the coming Fair and will bring six head of cattle and twenty odd sheep. Mr. Bradford is a noted raiser of improved stock, and has always been a patron of Petersburg fairs. He is also an accomplished drainage farmer, and has paid special attention to the breeding of high grades of sheep. he will be a most welcome visitor to his many friends in our city."
