Anyone have an Olive E. Butler . . . married Edwards. I believe living
possibly vicinity of Farmington, Maine ca. 1900. I have old Butler photo
with her signature on back, trying to learn connection. Photo is of Benjamin
F. Butler (1776-1855) husband of Huldah Bradford (b. 1781), of New Sharon,
Franklin Co. ME. Back of the photo identifies Mr. Butler and is signed "from
Olive E. Butler Edwards 1898". Can anyone make a connection to these lines?
Peter Burrows, Annapolis, MD

Quite a few Benjamins from what I have seen. My line desc. from Nicolas,
initially at Martha's Vineyard, and by about 1800 to Franklin Co., Maine.
Briefly . . . .

My line (1) Nicholas> (2) John> (3) John> (4) Simeon> (5) Ebenezer Cheney>
(6) Benjamin Franklin Butler (abt 1746-1829) b. M.V, marr Amy Daggett and
died at Farmington, ME. Some of their desc. remained, scattered to OH, IL,
etc. His son (7) Benjamin F. Butler, Jr. (1776-1855) marr. Huldah Bradford
and their children left Maine in the late 1840s for Illinois.
