I am researching Bradford's in the Gwinnett, Walton, Newton and Rockdale
County areas of Georgia. My main interest is in the family of Brazel B.
Bradford who was born about 1817 to 1820 in Georgia and died in September of
1889 in Conyers, Rockdale County Georgia. His wife was Tabitha and I believe
her maiden name was Crawford.
Brazel Bradford is buried at Philadelphia Methodist Church in Rockdale
County.
Their children were Henry Thomas, Marshall P., William D., John W., Louis Z.,
Frances A., Robert E. Lee, and Mary Ellen.
Some of Brazel's grandchildren were in Gwinnett County GA in the early
1900's. Also in the same area are the families descended from Isaac
Bradford's son, Charles Y. Bradford.
I am trying to find out who Brazel's parents were and if there is any
connection between Brazel Bradford, Isaac Bradford and a Nancy Bradford who
was born about 1820 and married Joseph Crawford. The Crawford's lived near
Brazel in Newton County. Nancy is possibly related to Brazel and Joseph is
possibly related o Tabitha.
Brazel first appears as head of household in Walton County GA in 1850.
In 1820 Bradfords listed in Walton county are Sinthiny Bradford and a Richard
Bradford. In 1830 there are Bartholomew Bradford and two Timothy Bradford's.
In 1840 there is only one Timothy Bradford listed as head of household in
Walton County. I believe Bartholomew Bradford is the one who married Lucy
Bailey in Oglethorpe County GA in 1807, and the son of Nathaniel Bradford and
Tamer Pope. One of the Timothy's is the one who married Deannah Ray in
Hancock County GA in 1816.
I would like to hear from anyone researching any of these Bradfords.
Thanks
Dennis Garrett
