Robert Hazlett Bradford, born in Alma, Nebraska, came to El Dorado as a child, six years old, to live in the home of Robert H. Hazlett. Parents were James and Frances (London) Badford of Kentucky and Illinois respectively. Frances died in Nebraska 1886 when Robert was 6.

James Bradford was the son of Thomas Bradford. Line from which Robert decends is John of Virginia, brother of William Bradford, 2nd gov. of the Plymouth colony.
