After contacting the List manager and getting her permission I am filing
the following on the virus question. I am not meaning to start a
thread.
I use Outlook Express and have found I can keep from downloading
messages containing virus by first going to www.mail2web.com and
checking there. There you can delete any unknown or unwanted emails
PRIOR to opening Outlook Express. I keep up with the latest upgrades on
my virus program, but that BadtransB hit before my program could get out
an update. I was down for 3 days cleaning out my system and discovered
mail2web. I now check there first and clean up my 30-50 emails of
unknown messages or spam prior to downloading. It's been the best 20 or
30 minutes spent in my usual computer time.
Another site I recommend is Trend Micro Housecall. They will perform a
free scan on your system that usually is faster than the virus programs
most use.
