My wife's gggrandfather Charles BRADFORD (b. abt 1812) is believed to immigrated to the US from England through Canada. He married Melissa Rich (born Feb 1818, VT). They married in the 1830s and settled in Elgin, Kane County, IL. They had 8 children, John, Sidney (her ggrandfather), Emory, Eugene, Charlotte, Euretta, Henry and Will. Three of their boys John, Sidney, and Eugene served in the Civil war. John died as a result of injuries sustained in the War.
