Once again, my semi-annual attempt to find new cousins and extend our
understanding of the family of Joseph BRADFORD (c. 1785 -1835) of VT.

Joseph's father was thought to be John BRADFORD; John's father was
thought to be Asa BRADFORD, all of VT.

Joseph BRADFORD, b. c.1785, probably VT, m.1. c.1806 to Susannah WASHER
(b. c.1797, d. c.1817) , m.2. 1816 in Berkshire, Franklin Co., WI to
Persis/Percis/Percy DARRAH-BRADFORD (b. c1797 in Dunham, Quebec, Canada
or VT, d. 1862 in Dunham, Missisquoi, Quebec). Joseph died in either
1835 (alt. date: 1844) of an accident while felling a tree in Berkshire,
VT. Following Joseph's death, at least six of the sons from Joseph's
second marriage traveled west in the early days of the Erie Canal, first
to Syracuse, NY and by 1846 to Sheboygan, WI. Most served in WI units of
the the Union Army, and after the "Difficulty between the States" they
or descendants relocated to southern WI, KS, MI and beyond.

to Caroline Baker BURROUGHS, he d. at
sea in 1864.

My line derives from Ira, Joseph's oldest son of his second marriage.
