I am a new subscriber to this list, having just subscribed a couple of days
ago, so I am just saying hello and letting you all know I am now "lurking
in the background" monitoring messages about some of my distant "cousins."
I have been fascinated with genealogy since an aunt let me "get bitten by
the genealogy bug" around 1990, but when I got some computer software
(Family Origins) to get it organized a few years later, I got "infected" to
the point that NO doctor can cure me <g>.

Through my maternal line, I am descended from Isaiah Bradford (b. in
Indiana abt 1827) and Sarah J. (birth surname not known to me, b. abt 1828
also in Indiana). They reportedly had four children, and my line goes
through Oscar, who was born in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana in
1849. He died in 1909 and was married to Emma Sarah Fitch (1851-1938),
also in Bartholomew County, Ind. Their eldest (of six) child was Mettie
Fitch Bradford, my great grandmother, whom I knew during my childhood in
California.

I have totally UNsubstantiated information that our Bradford line leads at
least to William Bradford of Mayflower fame, but at this point, this is
only family legend that I cannot substantiate. No matter WHERE it leads, I
would very much like to hear from anyone who can help me take this line
wherever it goes. My philosophy is that genealogy is history, and as such
belongs to everyone. To that end, I will share any information I have with
anyone interested in it, but I have very little to share on the Bradford
line. Our information can be seen at the links below my signature, so feel
free to visit if you wish. For those of you who actually know what you are
doing when it comes to creating a web page, though, PLEASE do not laugh TOO
loudly at my initial attempt at being a webmaster, as I am very much "in a
learning mode" in that endeavor.
