Alie:

I sent this information on to Leona. As you can see we are related at least
as close as Adam and Frances Neely.

Samuel Bradford was a resident of Snow Hill, Maryland. He died sometime
between December 15, 1810 and the proving of his will at Snow Hill on
February 11, 1812. Samuel Bradford served as a private during the
revolutionary war. He was in Squad 6 of Captain William Purnell's Company
in the Sinepuxin Battalion of Worcester County. The 1790 census of
Worcester County lists Samuel Bradford, as well as Solomon, John, Avery, and
Zedekiah. We are not sure about the relationship of these other Bradford's.
We know that there were Land Patents in Samuel Bradford's name. Book IC#G
Folio 426, Maryland Land Office contains a patent for 83 acres Named
"Bradford's Luck". Book IC#S Folio 723, Maryland Land Office contains a
corrected survey of the original "Bradford's Luck". We are unsure of
Samuels birth date, or place. He married Sarah (unknown last name) and they
had 7 children. #1. William Bradford (unknown birth date or place). Died
before 1810. #2. Sarah (unknown birth date, or place). Died July 1, 1859
in
Kentucky. #3. Peter born 1767 (unknown place). Died 1844 in Pennsylvania.
#4. Eleanor (unknown birth date or place). Still living in 1839 in
Maryland (unknown date or place of death). #5. Adam born April 16, 1775
probably at Snow Hill. Died June 5, 1849 in Missouri. #6. Nancy Born 1779
probably at Snow Hill. Still living in 1843 in Kentucky (unknown date or
place of death). #7. James born February 19, 1780 probably at Snow Hill.
Died September 24, 1852 in Kentucky. Samuel's second marriage was to
Tabitha (Fitzgerald?) and they had 5 children. #1. John (unknown date or
place of birth) Died July 17, 1826 in Kentucky. #2. Delilah (no
information about birth or death) #3. Lida (no information about birth or
death, but probably died before 1810). #4. Mary born 1795 died 1865 (no
further information). #5. Comfort (no information about birth or death).

You can see that we have some information, but there are a lot of gaps. I
am a direct descendent of Samuel, and have a book titled "Bradford
Descendants" Written by Vance Arthur Bradford. Published in 1985. Library
of Congress catalog card number 85-073175 ISBN 0-9615983-0-1. This book
traces the family from Samuel on to the 1980's. We are unable however to
trace the family past Samuel. A family story says that we are related to
William Bradford of the Mayflower, but this story apparently is wrong. the
story has it that the lineage runs from Governor William Bradford, to his
son Major William Bradford, to his son Lieutenant Joseph Bradford, to his
son John Bradford, to his son Samuel Bradford. Apparently this is not the
same Samuel Bradford that we can trace our family from.

Do you have any other information concerning Samuel? I sure would like to
be able to get past him in my search. Are you related to this family? If
so what is your line?
