I am looking for any information on Joseph Bradford who was born about
1798 in North Carolina. He has been found in Jefferson Co., IL. as early
as 1830 according to the 1830 Jefferson Co., IL. Census. In this census,
he has 5 children and a wife. In the 1850 Jefferson Co., IL Census, he
is listed with his wife, Nancy (aged 56, born in KY), and one child, Samuel
(aged 21, born in IL.). Joseph then remarries Martha Ross in Jan. 1861
in Jefferson Co., IL. Nancy, his first wife, must have died after the time
the 1860 Census was completed, June 1860, and when Joseph remarries in
Jan. 1861. Joseph and Martha had 7 children. They are Mary m. ?, Sarah
m. Ford, Josephine m. Starner, Rosella m. Ford, Ida never m., Fannie m.
Wilkerson and George. I would like to find Joseph's parents and siblings.
I feel that if I can find his parents, I will be able to continue with
the search.
At this point, I am at a dead end. Any information or clues would be greatly
appreciated.
