To the Bradford List: I would like to know if this lineage is correct,
I found a book called "Our Children's Ancestry" by Sarah Cantey
Whittaker Allen at the library in Waycross, Ga. and would like someone
who is knowledgeable on this line of Bradford's to read this and dispute
or agree about these facts that are stated please.

Tabitha Bradford, wife of Samuel Crowell, was descended from William
Bradford, governor of the Plymouth colony.Governor Bradford was the son
of William Bradford I and his wife, Alice Hanson, whom he married June
1, 1585. In 1595 they were living in Austerfield, England.Governor
William Bradford was born in 1588, baptized March 19, 1589, and was
governor of the Plymouth colony for 31 years. He was twice married,
first on November 15, 1613 , to Dorothy May, whodied just before the
ship they came over on, reached Plymouth colony. Some accounts say she
was drowned. They had one son, John, who died in infancy.Governor William
Bradford was married, a second time, to Alice Southworth on August 14,
1623.They had several daughters but only one son, Willliam Bradford,
III, known as Major Bradford, who was born in 1624; he was deputy
governor of Plymouth. William Bradford IIIwas 3 times married, first to
Alice Richards, by whom he had four sons and six daughters; second to
Widow Wiswell, by whom he had one son, Joseph; third to Widow Mary
Holmes, by whom he had four sons. Two of the sons of William and Alice
richards Bradford were John and William Bradford IV.William Bradford IV
was born 1652 and married in January, 1673.John Bradford, son of William
and Alice Richards was born Feb 20 1651 and was married to Nancy Warren,
by whom he had four daughters and three sons; William V.,(born 1673),
John II,(born 1675) and Robert (born 1678 and died in infancy).
John Bradford II moved to Fauquer County, Va. where his uncle William
lived and called himself John of Virginia because his father was John of
Maryland, since he had settled in Maryland near where Cokesbury College
now stands. He was an ardent Methodist and gave freely of his time and
means to assist John and Charles Wesley.
John Bradford II obtained from John, Earl of Granville, a grant of land
given under the seal of George II of England. This tract was situated in
what is now Halifax County, NC and hither came to John Bradford III ,
son of John Bradford of VA. to amke a home and rear a family. John III
served with distinction in the war of the Revolution, held a Col.'s
commision in the Amreican Army and was at Yorktown , when Cornwallis
surrendered. He was a member of the colonial congress along with Colonel
Ash of NC, and a member of the House of burgess. He is buried in
Enfield, NC.John Bradford III married 3 times , first to Patience Reed,
daughter of Henry Reed of NC, second to Dorothy Miriam, and third to
Elizabeth....he had 27 children........the article goes on some more.

so anyway, am I wrong in that John Bradford the distinguished Colonel
was the son of John Bradford I and Rebecca Pace and that John I was son
of Richard Bradford and Frances Taylor???Could someone please shed some
light on this for me. I would really appreciate it!!!
