I found the Bradfords in "Biographical Rosters of Florida's Confederate
and Union Soldiers" by Hartman

CAPTAIN DENT'S BATTERY, LIGHT ARTILLERY
6th Sgt Silas P. Bradford enlisted 12/21/61 at Pensacola and appears as
6th Sgt in early 1862. He was wounded at Shiloh in early April 1862 and
was dropped after 4/30/62. He may have been transferred as 2nd Lt to
Company G, 25th Regiment Alabama Volunteers 5/6/62.

Second Florida Cavalry, Company D
Bradford, William Mumford (b. 9/15/36 Leon Co.; d. 9/9/1912
Jacksonville) lived on a plantation which he ran with his father, Thomas
A. Bradford, a pioneer of Leon Co. He enlisted 3/5/62 at Tallahassee and
was transferred to Company C, 5th Florida Cavalry 8/23/63. He was
appointed Commissary Sgt 3/1/64. He supposedly fired the first shot at
Natural Bridge in March 1865. Colonel Scott described him as "Of all the
men in my command, not one was so slow to speak or so quick to act as
he." He was paroled at Tallahassee 5/13/65 and was 5,10", dark eyes,
skin & hair. He lived in Gainesville in the 1900s, and served as City
Tax assessor for several years. He received a Florida pension after the
war for his service in this company.

Second Florida Cavalry, Company C
Bradford, James J. (b. 1837 Bullock Co. GA) enlisted 9/12/61 in
Fernandina and was detached to the Signal Corps since mid 1863. He was
paroled 5/17/65 in Baldwin. He was 5'l0", fair skin, dark hair, blue
eyes, occupation: trader/farmer.
Bradford, Thomas S. (b. 1840) enlisted 9/12/61 in Femandina. He
reenlisted 5/3/61 in Gainesville and transferred to Company A, Milton
Light Artillery 6/12/63. He was present on the last roll and was paroled
5/24/65 at Thomasville. Occupation: farmer. There may be a Georgia
pension under his name.

FIRST FLORIDA CAVALRY, COMPANY I
1st Lt Henry Bradford (b. 1838) enlisted 12/1/61 in Bronson. He was
elected Captain 5/26/62 then Major 9/7/63. He was captured 11/25/63 at
Missionary Ridge and sent to Johnson's Island prison. He wrote a letter
to his sister Mary 3/20/64. He was paroled and sent to Point Lookout
prison for exchange 3/14/65.

FIRST FLORIDA RESERVES, COMPANY E
3rd Lt R. F. Bradford enlisted 6/3/64 at Tallahassee. He was present on
the last roll and was paroled 5/14/65 at Madison. He was 5'8", light
hair, dark skin & eyes.

TENTH FLORIDA INFANTRY, Company F
Bradford, Thomas H. does not appear on any rolls but was discharged
9/17/62 after substituting Peter Oneal.

Florida Infantry, Company G
Bradford, Hampton (b. 1834; m. Effie McDougald 7/3/55) enlisted 5/17/62
at Orlando. He was sent to Culpepper Hospital VA 11/18/62 and died
12/26/62 in the Christian's Factory Hospital, Lynchburg VA. He was
buried in local Old City Cemetery, lot # 101, grave #10, row #4.

Fifth Florida Infantry, Company K
Bradford, John (b. 1832) enlisted 3/11/62 at Tallahassee. He was
transferred to the Army of the West by order of General Finegan 8/20/62.
He appears as Asst. Inspector General, 1st Brigade 12/15/62 and was
present on a return dated 8/24/63 at Knoxville TN.
Bradford, John R. enlisted 4/23/62 at Camp Leon but was discharged soon
after.

(Old) First Florida Infantry, Company A
1st Sgt Edward Bradford, Jr. (b. 9/14/33 Halifax Co. NC; m. Roberta H.
Harrison 5/14/67; d. 7/21/70 buried in Bradford Cemetery, Tallahassee)
enlisted 4/2/61 at Tallahassee but was discharged for disability
2/5/62.
Captain Richard H. Bradford (b. 1836) enlisted 3/28/61 at Madison. He
was killed on the morning of 10/9/61 at Santa Rosa Island: "... was shot
in the breast and instantly killed, while leading his men ...." His
cousin, Edward Bradford, brought the body home and was buried in God's
Acre at Pine Hill. Governor John Milton delivered the eulogy. He was the
first Confederate officer from Florida to die in the war and, in his
memory, New River County was changed to Bradford County 12/6/61.
