Hi Everyone,
In my daily job at the post office I ran across a piece of mail that took
me by surprise. I want to share this with you. In the state of Indiana
is this Outdoor Recreation Center called Bradford Woods. I want to past
on to you the first and important page. The page begins: ABOUT BRADFORD
WOODS Bradford Woods rolls gently across 2400 wooded acres in the hills
of southern Indiana. The soft breeze of serenity stirs the grounds and
fills the accommodations with a feeling of home and hospitality. It is
the perfect place to retreat for an Institure.
The roots of welcome run deep at Bradford Woods. At the turn of the
century, the Bradford family returned to Morgan County to estabish a home
and a haven. A successful sand mining operation later established them
as a wealthy family. Due to the lack of family heirs, John Bradford
deeded the land to Indiana University's Department of Recreation and Park
Administration with a stipulation that the land be used to benefit the
physically, visually, and mentally imparied children of Riley Memorial
Hospital.
Can anyone claim this John Bradford? Has anyone else heard of this
place? I had a John Bradford in Delware Co. Ohio in the 1830C. I claim
him as son of Joseph Bradford. Never found him after that census.
Joseph father was named John and this John in Delaware Co. fits the age.
Also in that county was my GG Thomas.
If anyone wants more info. on the about place, let me know.
Don
