Ah, there's my problem. My stone wall (who married a Bradford line woman) was
Hazard, "born in Boone Co., Indiana" (c. 1850) and "moved to Missouri as a
youth." No towns, no townships, and in MO, no county!

We know where he spent part of his adulthood and, thanks to a gazette of the
town where he did business--photocopy acquired from the Library of Congress,
Division of Maps--we now have a picture of him. If you haven't tried this
source, do.
