What this makes incorrect, then, is the group of offspring that were part
of the Sandlund I research. The offspring as given in his work are:
Richard, Nathaniel, John, Frances, Rebecca and Sarah. So, the question now
becomes, were these individuals children with a previous marriage of
John's? It would seem that a man in the 1600's would not have remained
unmarried until age 61.
What do you think? Toni <
Possible, but I don't think so. John Bradford married Rebecca Pace in 1718
and their children were born Richard 1719, Nathaniel 1722, John 1726,
Frances, Rebecca and Sarah. I guess John lived on the family plantation
until after his father died when he and his brother Ralph sold off their
shares and moved south. There he met his young bride Rebecca Pace.
I think that Winnefred Aycock lady was old when she wrote that letter in
1791, had never met her Bradford relatives up in North Carolina and didn't
even know the first name of her mothers previous husband. Tabitha was her
aunt, not her half-sister.
