This is a list of unclaimed medals of soldiers that served
in the Civil War from West Virginia. Many men from Maryland and
Pennsylvania
went to WV to enlist.(Don't ask me why). But anyway I found a
relative (dead
of course) that has a medal that hasn't been claimed yet. So I
wrote to the
guy and he said that I was eligable to recieve the medal. But
it's as easy as
it sounds.
Once you've found a relative that has an unclaimed medal yu have
Prove relationship. And they are REAL serious about this. They
need
ALL birth/death/marriage certificates to prove relationship.
Genealogy charts will not do.
Well Like I said I found one and in six months it will be in
my pocession. It takes six months for them to verify everything.
So Good luck I
hope somebody finds something!!!!
