The first of my line of Bradfords to come to Mecklenburg County, NC was David
who came with his wife, Mary Lancaster, from York County, Pa. by way of
Joppatowne, MD. He brought a letter from John Strain, pastor of Donegal
Presbyterian Church, stating that he had been gone "several years hence" and
had been a member in good standing. They had four sons. James, David, Samuel
and Michael. James stayed and is my line. David had no children. We have
never been able to find Samuel's wife and or heirs. Michael was in the Polk
Cty and McMinn Cty Census in the 1800's. If any one has any knowledge of this
