Hi Cousin Ardeth!
I have a copy of the book "Glimpses of the Life and Work of The Reverend
Richard Bradford as Scholar, School Principal, Chaplain Priest of the
Church of England and S.P.G. Missionary" (Phew!) by Grace D. McGibbon. The
only original I found was at the Erie, PA library, and my librarian ex-wife
was kind enough to get it via Intra-Library Loan.
Charles Christopher Bradford (1790-1853) is listed as a direct descendent
in the first generation. He married Roxanna Tenney (1809-4/18/1894) who is
my GGGM through their daughter Helen Melvina Bradford (3/31/1843-1910).
Helen is the sister of your Almira Jessie Bradford. My GGF who married
Helen was James Bisset (11/18/1835-5/16/1869) from Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
They lived (and descendents remained) in Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada.
The book has three generations of family trees, plus several pages of name
references from the text during the period that Richard Bradford ministered
in Lower Canada (Quebec).
I first found my connection for James and Helen on KindredKonnections. I
downloaded a large GEDCOM that included the Bowron tie-in, which goes back
to somewhere around 1152. I've since been able to expand my Bisset(t)
branch backward into Aberdeenshire, but quite frankly, I have NOT done much
with my Bradford line, other than to lurk here. I intend to scan in the
family trees and post them here, now that I've finally encountered another
descendent from this line. (We are certainly overshadowed by our more
famous namesake!) :-)
In any event, if you would like to contact my Aunt I will provide her phone
and address separately. She remembers talking with Roxana Bisset, the only
daughter of James and Helen, and it might prove interesting to you.
Warm regards, cousin..... :-)
