One of my GGGfathers was Robert Y Bradford, on 1860 TN census: <<BRADFORD, R.?
Y.? 31, Mary 27, Louisa 8, Rebecca 7, Lafayett 6, Mary 4, James 1/12, Benton
Co-21.>>
He served as a Lt. in the US army during the war between the states,
and died in a US military hospital in Paducah, KY on 2 Feb 1865.

He is listed, with his mother and siblings, in the 1850 Carroll Co, TN census:
<<BRADFORD, Elizabeth 50, Samuel D 24, Hugh A 22, Mary 23, ROBERT Y 20, Felix
S 14, Elizabeth 12, SC SC, CR-1589-239>>

>From other sources, I have established that his mother was Elizabeth Barr, b
1794/1800 in SC, the daughter of Wilson W Barr. Though not certain, his
father was probably the Robert Bradford who in on the 1840 Carroll Co, TN
census.

I have been told by a g-uncle that my gg-mother always said that her Bradford
ancestry descended from Gov. William Bradford of Mayflower fame. Anyone
have information that would supply the "missing links", or establish that this
family tale is false?
