Hello Dan and Carol,

I have a possible King and Bradford connection in old Orange County, North
Carolina, now Alamance County, with the family of John King who died in 1797;
his will was witnessed by D. Bradford and Thomas Bradford. I have not
filtered out the actual connection, but I feel that it is a significant one.
The Bradfords intermarried with the James Bird family who lived just over the
line into Caswell County, North Carolina. James Bird settled there ca 1750
from Delaware. John King's sons were named in his will: Thomas; Edward,
William, John, and Armour. There was a possible son, Samuel, who predeceased
John by about 10 years, whose estate was settled ca 1787. Since no daughters
were named, it appears that he had only sons.

you are interested in Virginia:
Cathrine King born 1754 "of Virginia", married Spencer Haynie born7 march
1758 Northumberland, Va in 1785
Mathew Thompson born abt 1770 "of Virginia" married Sibel Haynie born 20 Nov
1783

Do these help?? Do I hit anyone???

from the "Pendleton District" near Spartanburg. I haven't been able to find
out if they meant Pendleton, SC?
