Among my Thompson and King names I have them in NC, SC and Virginia. Since
you are interested in Virginia:
Cathrine King born 1754 "of Virginia", married Spencer Haynie born7 march
1758 Northumberland, Va in 1785
Mathew Thompson born abt 1770 "of Virginia" married Sibel Haynie born 20 Nov
1783

Do these help?? Do I hit anyone???

resources (libraries, etc) are available.

Spartanburg area where one family came from. They are said to have come
from the "Pendleton District" near Spartanburg. I haven't been able to find
out if they meant Pendleton, SC?
