Reva: I too am descended from Richard Bradford through Philemon Bradford &
Susanna Clopton. My maiden name is KING and they intermarried with the
Bradfords and Trusses in St. Clair Co. AL.

They lived primarily in Springville, AL and Trussville, AL (which is now a
suburb of Birmingham). I didn't realize that there were 4 brothers from the
Bradfords that came to St. Clair County. It looks like the Bradfords, Kings
and Trusses all came from SC in the same general area and perhaps had already
done a fair amount of intermarriage before the reached AL--at least the Kings
& Trusses did.

In the 1830s, I have 4 KING brothers leaving AL for Arkansas. One of them,
John Suel King, stopped and settled in Hampton, Calhoun County, Arkansas
because his wife had relatives there. The reason I have mentioned this is now
I find that there are several Bradfords on your BRADFORD list that also moved
to Calhoun Co AR. This particular KING son has not been mentioned as having
any relationship to the BRADFORDS. His wife was Margaret Riggs, who we have
not been able to find any other info on. John Suel King's brother married
into the BRADFORDS. Now I wonder if there was another connection as well?

Also, in your listing of Bradfords, you note Philemon Bradford, Sr who was
married to Susannah Clopton. I have a bunch of info on her family which
supposedly links them to most of the European royal houses back to about 460
AD. I take this with a "grain of salt" and don't vouch for anything but it's
interesting anyway. I'll be glad to share this with anyone interested but
preferably not on the mailing lists 'cause it is HUGE! 54 generations.
