Subject: BRADFORD, Locke J. 186? Nashville, TN
Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 00:08:13 EST

My greatgrandmother was Locke J. Bradford. She married Robert G. McClure II
on 1/2/1884, probably in the Nashville area. She was the oldest child of Mary
Narcissa (Brown)(Dimick) Bradford, who was either a daughter or niece of A.V.
Brown, listed as "Governor" in the 1847 Commencement Announcement of Nashville
University. Shortly after Narcissa's divorce (after a short marriage) from
Carlos Dimick, she bought Madison Station Plantation in November 1854 (I have
a draft of the deed.) and lived there through the early 1890's. It was a 126
acre plot about 5.5 miles north of downtown Nashville (at that time) along the
Gallatin Pike. She married G.G. Bradford in the late 1850's or 1860 and had
eight children (Locke, Grace, Jeanne, Irene, George, Henry (who died in Dec,
1876), Willie, and Phillip).

I would appreciate any information which would enable me to extend this branch
of my family tree. Thanks much.
