Golly, I looked at the great stuff that you guys had sent in your
messages...loved the one with John/James/etc. ALL of these Bradfords of
ours had the same names...cousins by the dozens. Let me tell you mine are
these names too but they are in slightly different areas. I will start by
giving you my ggrandmother and then going back with what I know:
Mary Bradford..B 1847..Orange/Alamance Co North Carolina was my
gggrandmother. Her siblings were: William Bradford, B 1849
Orange/Alamance; Elizabeth Catherine Bradford, B 1851 Alamance, North
Carolina. After their father's death, their mother married (2) Murray
Lambeth; (3) James K. Morris. As part of the Lambeth family, the Bradford
children moved to Missouri, settling in Webster Co in the late 1850's. Mary
Bradford married William Henderson Morris. She died after the birth of my
grandfather, John Bradford Morris, in 1874. She is buried just outside of
Marshfield, Missouri. William Bradford lived in Marionville, Lawrence,
Missouri. He is buried in the cemetery there. Elizabeth Catherine Bradford
married James Morris. She is buried in the cemetery just outside of
Marshfield along with Mary and their mother.
Their father was:
James "Jamey" Bradford B April 20, 1816 in Orange Co North Carolina
Married on Dec 18, 1846 in Orange Co to Nancy L. Bird, Dau of James Bird
Died June 26, 1851 in Burlington, Alamance, North Carolina. He is buried in
Cross Roads Church. In the 1850 Census, he is enumerated in the household
of "Murray Lambeth, Tailor" as a "student". James Bradford died before the
birth of his 3rd child.
His parents were:
David Bradford Jr. born about 1783 in Orange Co, North Carolina
Married Nov 12, 1808 in Orange Co, NC to Elizabeth Carregan
Died Aug 6, 1856 in Alamance Co, North Carolina
Here's where it gets sticky and I sure hope that someone out there has some
solid information for me:
His father possibly was William Bradford who died Dec 1821 in Orange Co,
North Carolina. I believe that William Bradford had a brother, David
Bradford, who may have had just one child, a George Bradford. All of these
individuals lived in Orange Co that part of which became Alamance in 1850.
Hope this helps someone else out and I sure hope someone out there can help
me out also!
Toni Pedersen
