I have a file of information I have compiled from various sources on some
ancestors and descendants of Richard Bradford of Charles City County, VA.
It begins with some of the earliest settlers of the Jamestown Colony
considered "Ancient Planters" including the savior of the Colony in the
1622 Indian massacre. They arrived when the colony was only two years old
and twelve years before the Mayflower set sail for Plymouth. It traces the
Bradford family to Brunswick Co, Va then to Halifax Co, NC then to
Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. It includes many interesting Colonial
politicians, pioneer ministers, governors and plantation owners and a link
to Oliver Cromwell.
