Hi everyone,
My name is Sharon and I have been researching my relatives in Kent for a
short time, I found out about this list purely by accident and my interests
and reason for being on this list follow, I have only recently learnt of the
name BOWLES being part of my family history so I hope someone out there has
a common interest.
>My great great grandfather James BAILEY married Catherine BOWLES (born
>Lamberhurst 1846) August 1868 in Lamberhurst Kent. Her father according
>to their marriage certificate was James BOWLES a carpenter.
>
>James and Catherines children were: Charles Edwin, Mary Ann, George Pitt,
>Emily, Bert James (my great grandfather) and Frederick.
>James was a shepherd.
>
>I have found reference to a James BOWLES and his wife Mary Ann EDWARDS on
>the I.G.I. getting married in 1832. I have also found Catherines
>christening on there with the same two names for parents.
>
>Anyone with connections to these families with any pointers as to whether
>this is the correct couple would be welcome. Due to distance I am unable to
>travel to Kent !
>
>I thought I would post here before I go to order yet more certificates,
>(christmas expense in the way!) and yes I do know that the IGI has to
>viewed as an index rather than a definate fact.
