Thanks for all the work on the military records. I have not seen the family tradition mentioned by Rich Houghton. I'm trying to located an offical record, Revolutionary Claim etc. on his service. I have another ancestor Ezekiel Averill, grandfather of Francis "Frank" Averill husband to Martha Bloom, whom I have just been approved by DAR on his line. I had a copy of his Revolutionary claim. Martha was the granddaughter of William. With only two generations to prove want to submit this second line to DAR. I do have gravestone of William Bloom, and Ezekiel Averill. Ezekiel's stone states he was the body gaurd of George Washington. William's does not, but "Commemorative Record Biographical Portraits including, Centre, Clearfield, Jefferson, & Clarion Co." states he served under Washington for 6 years. I know the list of Washington's body gruads does not show either men, but the list is noted as incomplete.
