I am looking for parents and/or siblings of my
g-g-g-grandmother Ann Black.

Ann was born about 1815, possibly earlier, probably in
Scotland. The date and location of her marriage to
William Kidd is also unknown. He, too, was born about
1815 (possibly earlier) in Scotland.

They had at least one child, Ann Kidd, born about
1836-37.

On June 19, 1857, in Bridgeton, Glasgow, Lanark,
Scotland, Ann Kidd married Alexander Murry (Murray),
son of Alexander Murry and Jane Rusel (Russell) Murry.
Both Ann and Alexander and their families resided on
Bell Street, Calton.

Ann and Alexander had the following children:

1. Catherine Ann Murray (~1858-??)
2. Elizabeth Murray (1861-1923)
3. Jane Murray (1863-??)
4. William John Murray (1866-??)
5. Ellen Murray (1868-??)
6. Mary Murray (1871-??)

On February 25, 1887, at 8 Whitehall Street in
Glasgow, Scotland, Elizabeth married Peter Johnson,
son of Peter Johnson and Mary Paterson. Peter was born
on January 7, 1863 in Denmark.

Elizabeth and Peter immigrated to the US in 1889, and
settled in "East New York", or Manhattan, Queens, New
York, where their children were born. They had several
children of which only two survived, before moving to
East Rutherford, New Jersey.

If anyone has any information about this family,
please contact me.

Thank you,

Stephanie Johnson
