Need help with my family:
James C. Black--b.abt.1813---Ky married in Macon Co., Mo
Susan MYERS in 1841. One of the census stated Va as place of birth but we now think that could have been HIS fathers place of birth.
Found Civil War record:
5th Reg't Inf.Vols.,---Mo.Vols.C.S.A.
Black,Jame C. age 50
rank: Pvt. Co.B
captain: Trumper
Enlisted Dec 07,1861 at: Psage River Mo.
Served in M.S.C.as pvt. Co. "E" 4th Regt. 3d Division
Detailed as: Teamster
Discharge: Overage at: Grand Gulf, Miss..March 1863
Nat. Kentucky res: Laport, Mo.
Received e-mail in 2003 :noted in 1884 History for old settlers in Lyda Township.*( Nathan and Jubal Dabney and James Black were great hunters.)* A good many people came through Wayne Co. Ky to here and the Dabneys were from there. from: Calista Dunham MOMACON
