From my notes taken last year from The Complete Book of Emigrants by Peter Wilson Coldham, in 1768 William Black was a passenger from Yorkshire to be shipped from Hull to Ft. Cumberland, Nova Scotia by the 'Jenny' to reside having made a purchase. He was listed as a linen draper, aged 43. His wife, Elizabeth, aged 36, and children, John, aged 15, William, aged 14, Richard, aged 11, Thomas, aged 9 and Sarah, aged 7, sailed with him. William R. Brownell, (1948-2003) included a section in his "A History of the Brownell Family" on this family stating the info came from a book written by Cyrus Black, "The Posterity of William Black."
