The picture I have is of a couple who appear to be in their 30s to 40s, they have 9 children and on the back of the picture (is a post card) it states. This is our family group when we left old Pennsylvania in 1880 Maggie is the baby. It appears three of the children are three or younger possibly a set of twins, and maggie on mothers lap under 1 yr. Mother definetley is indian. This is all I know but was found among my husbands grandparents pictures. My husbands ancestors came from Lancaster, Pa or at least the furtherest back we got was a George (Swartz) Black this is how it was written in a copy of his family bible page. George was born 11/1777. He and his wife met and married in Huntingdon, Pa and they had 8 boys, no girls.She was a daughte of Jacob Zimmerman from Hagerstown MD. As the boys grew some of them remained in and around Huntingdon, and some moved to other places ohio etc. Wish I new more but we do not know who Georges parents were or how George ended up in Hun!
tingdon, Pa. The historical society told us they believe George moved to Huntingdon at age 19 with an anunt and uncle by marriage? If you have an indian married to a Black from PA around this time frame maybe they are related or the same couple I am talking about. let me know if any of this sounds familiar. Thanks
