Hi,
I am descended from George C Black and Sarah Jane (Hickenbottom)... our family tree is posted at WorldConnect under jshorton. Geo C and Jane and were my gg-grandparents.

I have been able to trace the BLACKs back through Illinois to Kentucky - and possibly to the Carolinas. It's highly possible that they were displaced Scots, though I don't have any records to back that up just yet.
