I continue to try to get beyond my g-g-g-grandfather John Black born in 1806 in Butler Co, PA. He married Sussana Catherina (aka Catherine) Keener in 1828. They gave birth to Solomon Black on Dec. 9, 1830 in Armstrong, Indiana Co., PA. Catherine Keener remarries around 1835 to a Moses Wilhelm after (I assume) the death of John Black, although I have not been able to find any records that support John's death. I have a lot of information on John's son Solomon (married to Mary Ann Russell in 1854) but virtually nothing on John. I don't know who his parents are or who his siblings are (or even if he had any siblings). My father has told me that he believes that this Black family line descends from Welsh ancestors. If anyone has any information on this line please get in touch with me and I will gladly exchange information.
