Help! Looking for the parents of, and any info for Henry Black. He was my gg grandfather. I know that he lived in Hamilton county Illinois, city of Crouch in 1860-1880. He eventually wound up in Arcola Illinois by 1900. I know he was born 1832, and that they had sveral children.Sarah E, 1856, Amanda c. 1858, John A. 1861 ( my g grandfather), Willaim H, 1865, Lucy A.,1868. I think 1 or 2 more as well.
John A married a woman named Serepta, whose parents are shown to be from either Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois or Ohio, depending on what census you look at. They had many children, including Ralph, a twin of Ray, born 1893 in Tuscola , IL. Ralph was my grandfather, married Edith L Louthan of Arcola, and had 2 children, Paul R. Black, my father, b1926 d 1981, and Norma Black, b1930 d 2004. I am Paul's second son, born 1960. Any help is greatly appreciated as I don't know how Henry is related to known Blacks of Arcola, such as Overton Black, if at all. My brother and I are the last males of the Ralph Black line, and we're having the mortality thing hit us, We would like to pass this info to our 4 sons.
