Need info on what happened to ROBERT (b. c. 1837), MARK (b. ca. 1842), ED (b. ca. 1845), and BURTON (b. ca. 1849) BLACK listed in 1860 Houston County, Texas, in town of Elkhart (p. 133). They are living in in household of T. D. BLACK (b. 1809). All of these men were born in Georgia. No females listed. What was relationship of T. D. Black to these men?
Did any of these men serve in Confederate Army from Houston County?
The four men: Robert, Mark, Ed (Edmond) and Burton Black are children of WILLIAM A. BLACK (b. 1799 in GA) and EDITH "Edy" Rodgers (b. 1807 in GA). This family is last listed together in 1850 Decatur County, GA. (p. 42 A).
In 1870 "Edy" Black is listed living in Houston County, Texas (p. 285 B) in the town of Crockett. Listed living with her are two males: M. S. (age 28, right age to be her son, Mark) and E. D. (right age to be her son, Edmund) also a 15 year old male "J. Jones, (b. 1855 in TExas).
"Edy" Black is back in Decatur County Georgia in 1880 living in household of her daughter.
I do have some info on this family and will gladly share.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Barbara
