I am looking for information on V.B. Black, married to Nancy J. Howard in Ecru, Pontotoc County MS 12/30/1854. They had 4 children that I know of: Thomas R. b. 1855, Volony b. 1859, James Russell b. 1860, and Jeff D. b. 1863.
I know V.B. joined the Pontotoc County Militia during the Civil War, enlisting on 2/20/1863 as a minuteman on the Pontotoc Beat. After that, Nancy J. appears in the 1870 census as a widow. I can find no confederate pension applications or anything of that kind.
That's all I know! Does anyone know anything else about V.B.?
