I may have some information on your Thomas Cole Black that would be of interest. Thomas Cole Black was born in 1865 in Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota and died in 1893 in Pierce County, North Dakota. Thomas married Isabella Elmslie on 24 December 1890 in Devils Lake, Ramsey County, North Dakota. Isabella was born Aug 1861 in Clifford, Wellington, Ontario, Canada and died January 1911 in Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota. Her father came to Canada from Scotland. Thomas Cole Black had a brother Sidney Black who was born about 1867 in Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota. Thomas Cole Black and Isabella Emslie had at least one child, i.e., Christena Katurah Black who was born on 2 October 1893 in Church's Ferry, Ramsey County, North Dakota and died 17 January 1953 in Alexandria, Virginia and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Christena first married Edwin Lee White on 23 June 1917 in Valley City, North Dakota. She later married Stephen Hunter following the death!
of Edwin White. Thomas Black's parents were George William Black (b. ~1839) and Katurah Conkle (b.~1841). George and Katurah were both from Clifford, Wellington, Ontario, Canada, but am not sure that they were actually born there. George married Katurah in about 1861 in Rugby, Pierce County, North Dakota. Most all of this information is contained in the LDS data base. Hope this helps some.
