I'm researching my 3rd great grandparents & family. The information I presently have is:
Samuel N. Black, born abt 1814 in TN.
wife, Lucy A. Hodges, born 1813 in TN
children:
Sarah Black, b-abt. 1840, Illinois
William Black, b-abt 1842, Illinios
Mariatta Black, b-abt 1850, Wisconsin
Josephine (Dolly) Black, b-Feb. 1852, Wisconsin, died 1921 in Kansas, married Lucius Coates
James E. Black, b-abt. 1855, Wisconsin, married Annie MNU, Wisconsin
Lucy Hettie Marriah Black, b-March 1856, Wisconsin, died 1921, Ohio

Lucy was my great grandmother. She married John E. Anderson in 1872 in Wisconsin. He died in 1904 in Oklahoma. Lucy then remarried to a Mr. Lawson and a Mr. Miller. I'm unsure of the sequence so don't know what name she had when she died.

I have some information on Lucy Hodges but very little on Samuel Black. I found them in Wisconsin for the 1850 & 1870 censuses. They were in Kansas by 1880. For that census, Samuel indicated his father was born 'on the sea' and his mother was born in VA.

I'm particularly interested in an further information on Samuel Black and his ancestors. I'm also very interested in learning more about Lucy Black Anderson's other two marriages. If you have any information or clues, please contact me.
