If you restrict yourself just to Hall County, Georgia I can not find the children you list belonging to one family in this county. Looking at your web site on James Black, who was born 15 January 1797 and died 1 September 1853 in Hall County, the 1850 Census shows him to be married to Temperance Alexander (b. 10 November 1804 and d. 20 March 1861 in Hall County) and having none of the children you indicate. I have in my records a Martin Van Black (b. ~1867 in Hall County, Georgia) as the son of Van Black (b. ~1844 in Hall County, Georgia) and Nancy unknown maiden name (b. ~1840 in Georgia). Van and Nancy Black had at least four children all born in Hall County, i.e., Martin Van (b. ~1867), Noah (b. ~1870), Jane (b. ~1872), and Clarie (b. ~1875). Your James Black who married Temperance Alexander was a member of the Oglethorpe County, Georgia Black Family genealogy as I believe all their children were born in that county. Van Black was a farmer in 1880 living with his wif!
e Nancy and their four children near Roberts, Hall County, Georgia. Van Black is part of the large clan of South Carolina Blacks but I have not been able to identify his parents. Hope this information at least gives you some food for thought.
