My Thomas was born in 1873 and was adopted by the Jarvis family in Sneedville,Tennessee when he was very young. Some of the Jarvis family had a picture of the Black's. She did not know that Thomas was adopted.. she gave it to someone on one of the message boards because she didn't know that Thomas is connected to the Black's.. I think that Thomas could have been related to his Jarvis family. He was raised in Sneedville, Tn.. I don't know Thomas mother and father's name just Black... Thomas had a son and his name was Thomas Elmer Jarvis. Daughter's names Iona, Hattie, and Amanda. I would be interested in any info . My grandmother talked about Greatgrandfather Thomas being adopted and his parents, they thought, could of died or had to give them up because of hard times. May have had other siblings. Thanks
