My husband's family goes through Jackson, Detroit, and even Walkerton, Ontario so there must be some connection. I'll check at home, as I have some newspaper clippings at home that reference RR engineering. I got them from the State Library in Michigan in Lansing, which is where we used to live. We have many Matheson people, which is not exactly your spelling. I've been to the Walkerton library, and found a few things but not too much. Our cottage in Canada is about 40 miles from Walkerton
