Help me find the missing Blacks of Philadelphia Pa. I have a copy of a US 1810 census page that lists a Furman Black in East North Liberties section of Philly. He had two son's and three daughters listed. In 1820 he was listed again. Then in 1821 or 1822 a son with the same name Furman marries a Sarah Ann Rogers in Phila. Pa. They have several children of which two survive. Furman was a river steamboat captain traveling the waters around Maryland, Delaware, NJ, PA and Washington DC. He was know as Captain Black in boating circles. Poor Furman died in 1852. But his family remained, wife Sarah Ann Black, daughters Delia Maria Black and Susan Taylor Black of Phila, Pa.. Looking for leads on Furman's and especially his parents lineage. Some one in the Phila Pa. area must have a family connection? Help! Contact Roger .
