I am very interested in the name Granville; my GGGrandfather, William
Anderson Black, born 1838. Jackson County, AL, had a son named Granville,
born about 1868 in Freestone County, TX. All the children have family names
(John, William, James Alexander, Marion and Wiley) except Granville and I
have no idea where that name came from.
William Anderson was the son of Benjamin, born in KY in 1808, whom we
believe to be the son of John Black, listed on the 1830 Jackson County, AL
census.
Would love to hear from anyone with information about this family.

Black and Betsy Mershon. I am a descendant thru their son Amos, his son
Jonah and his son Granville. I'd like to know when and where Samuel and
Betsy were born, died, and are buried.
